I always despised sitting in a classroom where the teacher didn’t tell me what I was going to learn in that class. I figure it’s only right to translate that idea into this site….

In 2016 I left the classroom to start an educational program aimed at preparing high school students for the needs of tomorrow’s workforce. It has been an exciting and challenging experience that has seen some outstanding success (98% graduation rate and thousands of free college credits earned by first generation college students). However, in this process all I could think about were all of the lessons that I was unable to teach while still in the classroom. Let’s be honest, there is a lot of content and test preparation that every teacher has to deliver.

My current position allows me the flexibility to work with students on the areas that I feel are most pertinent to them excelling in today’s workforce. But… what about the rest of the students that are out there who need guidance? What could I quite possibly offer you?

The purpose of this site is to provide advice on life, career, and money, largely from experience, for students in high school and college. This will be the crux of my focus – what I was unable to teach, and (hopefully) what you’ll need to succeed. In order to do this, I’ll focus on four things – my own thoughts, reading shares – what I learned from different books/articles, interviews with business professionals, and mailbag sessions – an opportunity for you to write in your own questions, thoughts, and music suggestions. Each article will have recommended listening to get the vibe right with the reading.

Above all, everything I do here, is for you, the student.
